DARREN PURSE

Home (1-Nov-2008) versus Wolverhampton Wanderers

Darren Purse Match Worn Shirt from the last ever season at Ninian Park.  Cardiff went on to lose the game 2 - 1 with a consolation goal from Ross McCormack.  Darren Purse was a fans favourite at Ninian Park and an obvious leader and captain within the team.

DARREN PURSE

Away (16-Feb-2009) Versus Arsenal

Genuine Match Worn shirt of Darren Purse. This shirt was swapped with an Arsenal player at the end of a 4 - 0 defeat at the Emirates stadium in an F.A Cup tie.  This yellow shirt was the main away shirt used by the club during the season after the players decided they did not like playing in the official maroon coloured away shirt.

GAVIN RAE

Away (Player Issue)

Gavin Rae Long Sleeve away shirt. I believe this is a player issue shirt as I only remember Cardiff wearing the official maroon away shirt at Loftus Road against QPR. All pictures I have seen show Gavin playing in a short sleeve shirt during the game

PETER ENCKELMAN

Home (Unknown) Player Issue

Genuine Player shirt of Finnish International Goalkeeper Peter Enckelman. Enckelman was to have 2 seasons at Cardiff where he started off on loan. He unfortunatley had a long term injury and was replacement goalkeeper to David Marshall before finally being released.

ROGER JOHNSON

Home (Player Issue)

Another Match Worn shirt obtained from the family of Cardiff Defender Roger Johnson. No match details on the shirt but contains all the correct printing and markings of a genuine player shirt.

KEVIN McNAUGHTON

Away (Player Issue)

No Match details on this signed shirt of Cardiff faourite Kevin Mcnaughton. Contains all the correct printing of a genuine player issue shirt.

KEVIN McNAUGHTON

(22/07/08) versus Guimaraes (Algarve Cup)

A Truly rare shirt added to my collection of Defender Kevin Mcnaughton. Shirt was only worn once against Guimaraes in the Algarve Cup that Cardiff went onto win after being invited too. Not 100% sure if Kevin made an appearence during the game so have labelled as Player Issue.

PETER ENCKELMAN

(24-Jul-2008) versus Celtic (Algarve Cup Final)

Another Truly rare shirt added to my collection from the Algarve cup. Shirt was issued to Cardiff Number 1 Peter Enckelman. Enckelman never played in the final as the goalkeeper place went to backup Keeper Tom Heaton. Never the Less - still a great addition to my collection.

MARK KENNEDY

Away (Player Issue)

Genuine Player Issue shirt of defender Mark Kennedy. Kennedy played early part of his career as a left sided winger but with local youngster Joe Ledley playing at left wing Kennedy was moved to left back. Kennedy was once the most expensive British teenager in football history when he moved from Millwall to Liverpool for £1.5 million.

MICHAEL CHOPRA

Home (Unknown) Player Issue

Player Issue shirt of Cardiff striker Michael Chopra. Chopra is more famous for wearing the number 10 jersey for Cardiff but he wore the number 18 shirt during 2 loan spells at Cardiff City during 2008/09 season. Chopra was later signed for a record 4 Million and got to wear the number 10 shirt in future seasons for Cardiff.

CHRIS BURKE

Away (Player Issue)

Chris Burke player issue shirt.  This shirt was definitely not worn as it was given to me with tags.  Shirt does show all the correct sizing and markings of a player issue shirt.

CHRIS BURKE

Away (25-Mar-2009) versus Merthyr FC

The first ever match worn shirt that I got.  This shirt was obtained through Merthyr Football Club, and was given to them when Cardiff played Merthyr in a mid season friendly match to help raise funds for the cash strapped club.  Cardiff went on to win 4 - 0 with Chris Burke scoring one of the goals.

JON BROWN

Home (25-Mar-2009) versus Ipswich (End of an Era Party)

T-Shirt worn by Cardiff Player Jon Brown at the end of the Ipswich game that turned out to be the last ever professional game at Ninian Park.  Like the famous advert. "If Carlsberg could organise the worst ever leaving party" then this certainly was.  If the 3 - 0 defeat was not bad enough, then the party after was even worse.  The players walked around the pitch in this simple white T Shirt and the club let off a few fireworks and released a handful of balloons.

Quincy James Owusu-Abeyie (QUINCY)

Away (Player Issue)

Quincy player issue shirt.  This shirt was definitely not worn as it was given to me with tags.  Shirt does show all the correct sizing and markings of a player issue shirt. Quincy came on loan to Cardiff with fantastic potential but as a player for us when playing never seemed interested in just his 5 appearences.

STEPHEN THOMPSON

Home (Player Issue)

Steve Thompson player issue shirt.  Thompson was a bit of a crowd please at Ninian Park especially after writing a song on the but back home with fellow team mate Kevin Mcnaughton.  Thompson was an old school tough centre forward.

PETER ENCKELMAN

Goalkeeper Shirt (Player Issue)

At first glance this looks like a standard away shirt from the season but its in fact a Goalkeeper shirt.  As mentioned above this style shirt was only ever used in one league game.  Due to a clash or personal choice the colour was inherited by Peter Enckelman later in the season as a goalkeeper shirt.
